"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

— PSALM 147:3

About the Book

Loss has a way of making everything feel permanent. The grief, the silence, the question of who am I now? In Restored and Made Whole, Jonathan E. Rudd walks alongside you through the valley — not with easy answers, but with biblical truth and hard-won wisdom forged through real pain.

Drawing from Scripture and personal experience, Jonathan reveals how God does not discard what is broken. Like the Japanese art of kintsugi — where shattered pottery is repaired with gold — your fractures become the very places where God's glory shines brightest.

This book is for anyone who has experienced loss — a loved one, a marriage, a dream, an identity — and wonders whether wholeness is still possible. The answer is yes. And this book shows you the way.

GRIEF & HEALING CHRISTIAN LIVING FAITH & HOPE RESTORATION

WHAT YOU'LL DISCOVER

How to Grieve with Faith

Biblical principles for walking through loss without losing your anchor in God.

The Path to Wholeness

A practical, Scripture-rooted roadmap from brokenness to complete restoration.

Your Wounds as Your Witness

How the places where you've been broken become the places where God's light shines most.

Hope That Holds

Why God's promises don't expire with your losses, and how to reclaim them.

This Book Is for You If…

You don't have to fit a category. You just have to be hurting.

You've lost a spouse or someone you loved deeply — and you don't know who you are without them.

You're still going through the motions of faith — praying, going to church — but you feel nothing.

Everyone around you expects you to be "over it" by now — but you're still hurting and wondering if something is wrong with you.

You've asked God "why" — and heard nothing but silence. And you need to know that your questions are not a sign of failing faith.

You've lost something that wasn't a person — a marriage, a dream, a future you planned on — and you're grieving something the world doesn't always recognize.

You want to believe that wholeness is still possible — but you need someone who has actually been there to show you it's true.

Inside the Book

A glimpse at what's waiting for you — chapter by chapter, page by page.

Pg. 1

The moment that split one man's life in two

Discover how an ordinary morning — the kind you don't even mark on the calendar — became the day everything changed. You'll recognize your own story here, no matter what your loss looked like.

Pg. 16

What to do when faith feels hollow and prayer tastes like ash

Jonathan reveals why clinging to truth that no longer comforts you is not a sign of weak faith — and what God actually asks of you when the words won't come.

Pg. 27

Why Jesus wept — even knowing He was about to raise Lazarus

Two of the most important words in Scripture unlock a truth about God that will change how you see your own tears. This single chapter reframes everything.

Pg. 31

The season nobody talks about — and where God does His deepest work

After the casseroles stop coming and everyone expects you to be fine — that long, invisible middle season — is actually where the most important restoration happens. Find out why.

Pg. 39

What to do when you've run completely out of faith

The liberating truth that God doesn't wait for your strength to return before He shows up. Lean in here — especially if you feel like your faith tank is empty.

Pg. 58

How to carry grief without being crushed by it

Grief doesn't disappear — but it can be carried. Jonathan shares the daily practice and the unexpected relationship that made the difference between surviving and truly living again.

Pg. 70

Why wholeness doesn't mean going back to who you were

The new definition of restoration that reshapes everything. You are not trying to return to the person you were before loss — you are becoming someone deeper, wiser, and more whole.

Pg. 72

The ending of Job's story that most preachers never mention

A single detail buried in Job 42 — hidden in plain sight — reveals what true restoration really looks like. It's not about what God gives back. It's about who you become on the other side.

This book brings the reality of grief into sharp focus — the loneliness, the regrets, and the voices from places we never wanted to revisit. It reveals how God uses grief as a refining process to bring healing, hope, and glory to Himself.

A deeply moving and compassionate work. As someone who has personally experienced the loss of a loved one, I found myself closely identifying with the grieving process Jonathan so transparently describes. His honesty offers both encouragement and comfort.

Your transparency and heartfelt acknowledgements are refreshing, restoring, and rebuilding hope after loss. One thought kept resonating — His presence. When there are no answers, God's presence sustains and strengthens while we're hurting.
